USE OF STANDARDISED NURSING TERMINOLOGY AT DISCHARGE CARE REPORTS IN A CANARY ISLANDS HOSPITAL: A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY.

Abstract Objectives: To analyse the use of standardised language in nursing care reports identifying typologies, labels and diagnostic content. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study of a simple random sample (n = 370) in the Complejo Hospitalario Universitario Insular Materno-Infantil (Canary Islands, Spain). The mean and standard deviation for quantitative variables, and frequency for qualitative variables were calculated using SPSS® (version 25). Results: Less than half of the reports (49.23%) incorporated standardized terminology, including n = 1922 active diagnoses, n = 93 resolved diagnoses, n = 72 interventions, and n = 103 nurses outcomes. Conclusions: Reports using standardized languages are insufficient, showing a high number of diagnostic labels that reveal poor resolution of problem-focused nursing diagnoses, with less recording of interventions and nurses outcomes. WHAT EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTIONS ARE EFFECTIVE IN PREVENTING DIABETIC FOOT? A REVIEW OF CLINICAL PRACTICE GUIDELINES

Abstract Main objective: Identify the best available evidence on educational interventions that can help prevent the appearance of Diabetic Foot (DF) in Primary Care. Methodology: Systematic review on 10 Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) with recommendations on education to prevent the DF. The search was carried out in databases of tertiary, secondary and primary sources with the descriptors Diabetes mellitus, Diabetic foot and Health education. The AGREE II tool was used to assess the quality of the CPGs found. Results: Were compiled the educational interventions that, according to the revised 10 CPG’s, are more effective in preventing the appearance of DF in Primary Care. Have been included these recommendations as NIC (Nursing Interventions Classification) activities related to the topic. Conclusion: The main result of this work indicates that educational interventions to prevent the onset of DF must inexcusably form part of the care plans for diabetic patients. These are interventions that appear to be very cost-effective, properly structured, will help reduce the incidence of DF and reduce the number of amputations Keywords: Diabetes mellitus. THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF INFORMAL PRIMARY CAREGIVERS IN TIMES OF COVID-19 AND ITS RELATION TO PRIMARY CARE NURSING

NURSING CARE QUALITY IN CRITICAL PATIENT UNITS: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract Objective: To identify factors that influence the quality of care provided in the Intensive Care Unit. Methodology: Literature review was carried out in the databases Web of Science, EBSCO, Scopus, PubMed and Virtual Health Library, in addition to Google Scholar search engine. Standardized descriptors were used in MeSH and DeCS, establishing the search strategies "nursing care AND icu AND quality NOT pediatrics" and "nursing AND icu AND quality of health care". The eligibility criteria used were: qualitative, quantitative and/or review studies related to the topic to be studied. A first screening was performed by title and abstract, eliminating references that did not meet the eligibility criteria, then duplicates were eliminated and a final screening was performed for fulltext selection with critical reading tools of the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASPe). Results: Factors that directly and/or indirectly influence the quality of care provided in Intensive Care Units were identified, in which workload, moral fatigue and psychological wear and tear stand out. Conclusions: Workload, moral fatigue and psychological burnout directly and indirectly influence the delivery of care in intensive care units. NURSING CARE PLAN DEVELOPED WITH THE MID-RANGE THEORY OF SELFCARE OF CHRONIC DISEASES

Abstract: The concept of empowerment has spread in our clinical practice in recent years. An empowered person is one who is capable of deliberating, solving their setbacks and satisfying their needs, with control and critical judgment over their life and health. In order for them to achieve these skills, we as professionals have the responsibility of informing and training patients so that they improve their knowledge and skills in self-care for their chronic diseases. Regarding a clinical case, he addresses, from a mid-range theory, how we can approach this type of patients for proper maintenance of their self-care. Key words: Self-care; chronic patient; nursing; Primary care and midrange theory.
